Don’t always trust science!

The daily prompt is “lollipop”.  This immediately set the grears off and running in my head.  If you can remember all the way back to the 1970’s, you’ll easily recognize Mr.Owl.  If you are too young for this,  you’ll get absolutely nothing from this cartoon… Sorry.  So Mr. Owl conducted a “scientific” experiment to see how many licks it takes to get to the center of a tootsie pop (lollipop).  Trouble was, his third lick was a bite.  As a child, watching this commercial, it always bothered me that the owl showed total disregard for the scientific process when he took that bite.

The Tootsie pop (lollipop) was one of my go to favorites as a kid.  Every time we went to the grocery store I could usually get Mom or Dad to spring for one.  I guess it was a cheap way to keep a kid from fussing or asking for something more expensive like a box of Captain Crunch cereal.

    1. The tootsie pop has a hard candy covering with a softer chocolate inside (but not gooy) so that’s why everyone is interested in getting to the middle of the lollipop, it’s a pretty iconic candy in the US, thanks for the comment
